installing xcalc on Fedora 8 / Eeedora

I find xcalc much more useful than bloated calculators like gnome-calculator, but couldn't find it in any repository. Still, to get it to work, relatively simple:
  • get xcalc-1.0.1-alt1.i586.rpm (or similar, from rpm.pbone.net for example)
  • install it with:
    rpm -ivh xcalc-1.0.1-alt1.i586.rpm --nodeps
  • then:
    cd /usr/lib
    ln -s libXaw.so.7 libXaw.so.8
    that should do it :-)
